(KNOX) – Altru Health System and CommonSpirit Health have officially completed the transaction to transfer ownership of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake to Altru Health System marking an important milestone in expanding access to care across the Lake Region.
The transition brings the hospital in Devils Lake under Altru Health System, strengthening local access to comprehensive, high-quality care while ensuring patients can continue to receive services close to home. Going forward, the hospital will now be known as Altru Hospital Devils Lake.
“We are excited to officially welcome the Devils Lake team to Altru and to deepen our commitment to patients and families throughout the Lake Region,” said Todd Forkel, CEO of Altru Health System. “This transition represents an opportunity to make a meaningful differencein the lives of those we serve. Over the next several months, we will be expanding services and enhancing care offerings to better meet the needs of this important community.”
This milestone reflects a collaboration between Altru and CommonSpirit, guided by a shared commitment to ensure rural communities continue to have access to strong, sustainable healthcare services. “We are grateful to the employees and medical staff who have remained focused on patients throughout this process,” said Tim Bricker, President of CommonSpirit Health’s Central Region.
