
(KNOX) – Thompson takes the number two seed into this week’s North Dakota State “A” Girls Basketball Tournament in Jamestown.
The Tommies punched their ticket with a Region 2A tournament championship, defeating Carrington, one of the state’s top teams, 60-38.
Carrington was then tipped by Valley City 60-59 in a state qualifier Saturday. Devils Lake won a spot in the tournament with a 52-48 win over Central Cass.
Thompson faces Rugby in the opening round Thursday. South Prairie-Max is the top seed in the tournament, and will face Watford City in the opening round. Devils Lake faces Valley City, and Kindred, the four seed, faces Hazen. The tournament will be at the Jamestown Civic Center.
