Central, Red River Advance in East Region Hockey

(KNOX) – The top two seeds were on top of their game Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the East Region hockey tournament.

Grand Forks Central and Grand Forks Red River used identical 8-1 scores to move to the semifinals Friday night at Purpur Arena.  Central knocked off West Fargo, the tournament’s nine-seed, while Red River defeated seventh-seeded Devils Lake.

Nolan Marto and Cooper Deziel each scored twice for Central, and each had three-point nights, with Rylan Spicer also recording three points for the Knights.

Stetson Brown, Griffen Haagenson, and Caden Ulmer each scored two goals for Red River, with Brown, Haagenson, and Mason Brenno each recording three points.

Central will face Fargo Shanley, who upset four-seed West Fargo Sheyenne Tuesday, in the semifinals Friday.  Red River will face Fargo Davies, the three-seed.
