Sacred Heart Boys, Girls Post Wins

(KNOX) – Sacred Heart basketball picked up a pair of wins in recent action.

The Eagles girls team dominated in a 72-43 win over Northern Freeze Tuesday night.  Leah Sundby hit a three in the first 14 seconds to score her 1000th point.

Sundby was the second Eagle to notch a 1000th-point moment in back-to-back nights.  Sundby assisted on Finley Horken scoring her 1000th Monday night.  Horken recorded an assist for Sundby Tuesday.

Sundby led the scoring with 13 points, with Horken adding 12 and Bryn Stevens tossing in 11.  Sacred Heart is now 15-4.

On the boys side, the Eagles benefitted from 20 points from Caleb Ihry in a 76-60 win over Clearbrook-Gonvick.  The Eagles overcame a pair of injuries in the game to still produce three double-figure scorers.

Nathan Kaiser scored 13, and Jacob Ortiz added 11.  Three additional players were a basket away from double-figure nights.  The Eagles are now 10-5 this season.
