Rick Berg Appointed Interim North Dakota State University President

(North Dakota Monitor) – Rick Berg, a former state lawmaker and Republican member of Congress, will serve as interim president of North Dakota State University.

The State Board of Higher Education appointed Berg  to lead the campus after President David Cook steps down. Berg will start Feb. 9.

Berg, a real estate developer, served in the state Legislature from 1985 to 2010 and served one term in Congress. He is a graduate of NDSU and a longtime supporter of the university.

“Berg brings extensive national‑level leadership experience along with sharp entrepreneurial and business expertise, strengthening NDSU’s ability to build and expand key relationships,” State Board of Higher Education Chair Kevin Black said.
