(KNOX) – A Red Lake Falls man was sentenced to nearly five and a half years for selling methamphetamine in Pennington County.
Nicholas Johnson, 38, pleaded not guilty to felony first-degree sale of a controlled substance in November 2024. Johnson was found guilty of the crime in October in a jury trial.
According to court records Johnson was under investigation by the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force in August 2023, because it was believed that he was selling methamphetamine. A personal informant set up to buy an ounce of methamphetamine from Johnson for $2,000 and they met in Thief River Falls to complete the drug deal.
The informant turned multiple bags of a crystalline substance over to law enforcement. The substance weighed 29.8 grams and tested presumptively positive for the presence of methamphetamine, the records said.
Johnson has credit for 65 days served.
