(KNOX) – A  former Grand Forks pharmacist accused of stealing approximately $15,000 worth of drugs waived his preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty.

Brayden Trontvet, 36, has been charged with theft between $10,000 and $50,000 and deceptive writings.

According to legal documents the criminal case against Trontvet was filed in October, though his alleged acts were reported to law enforcement in May.

Trontvet allegedly said that he stole the drugs, saying he deceived the inventory system. He denied giving away or selling any of the pills, and said no one knew he was doing it; he relied on the stimulants to deal with social situations.
