Grand Forks Man Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Murder

(KNOX) – A Grand Forks man waived his preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other felony charges for allegedly shooting a man multiple times during a verbal altercation.

De’Angelo Brent, 29, is facing the charges. According to legal documents the shooting happened August 31st when a group of people arrived at a Grand Forks home and Brent allegedly pulled up to the building with his windows down, getting into a verbal argument with one of the women in the group.

She was standing on the porch with Antonio Locke, of East Grand Forks, when Brent allegedly pointed a handgun at him and fired, striking Locke multiple times. Locke was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he had to undergo surgery.

Brent is beingĀ held on a $250,000 cash only bond, a hearing to review that amount is scheduled for December 5th.
