(KNOX) – A Clearwater County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man Thursday following a car chase in Bagley.
The incident began when a deputy spotted someone with an outstanding felony warrant at a local gas station and attempted to arrest them.
That attempt sparked a physical struggle, and the man fled, leading deputies on a chase.
When the pursuit ended, the man fired what authorities described as a flare-type projectile at officers. A deputy returned fire, fatally striking him. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has taken over the investigation.
