(KNOX) – Firefighters battled a brush fire near Hillsboro Wednesday afternoon.
The Traill County Sheriff’s Office said that high winds and dry conditions helped the fire, burning about 60 acres of beans.
The fire was reported at about 2 p.m. as a controlled burn, but it got out of control and several area fire departments responded.
The Traill County Sheriff’s Office said that the fire was contained by 5 p.m.
When it was over the fire traveled about for a mile and a half, burning ditches, trees and the bean field. It was sparked by a fire in a combine. No injuries were reported.
