Car-Pedestrian Accident in Grand Forks

(KNOX) – Wednesday afternoon the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to South 5th Street and Kittson Avenue for a vehicle and pedestrian crash.

Preliminary investigation indicates a black 2023 GMC Sierra was turning north on South 5th Street from Kittson Avenue. The 2023 GMC was driven by Monica Aguirre, 46, of East Grand Forks.

While turning, a pedestrian was crossing in the designated cross walk area, they were ultimately struck by the GMC.

The pedestrian who was struck was identified as a Grand Forks resident, Patrick Peltier, 64. Peltier was tr taken by Altru Ambulance to the hospital.

The crash are is being investigated.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to thank the public for their patience as traffic was diverted in this area for approximately 60 minutes while officers investigated the crash scene.
