(KNOX)–The talk over a new jail and sheriff’s office still goes on after Walsh County Commissioners said that they could be passing a sales tax ordinance.
This comes after Walsh County voters in May shot down an effort to build a new $42 million jail.
A Walsh county commissioner confirmed that the commission was served with a “petition for writ of mandamus” in regards to moving forward with the jail and sheriff’s office.
Walsh County confirmed that it was looking at using the sales tax revenue for possible construction of a jail or a sheriff’s office.
