(KNOX) – The public is invited to a memorial service honoring fallen law enforcement officers from the Northern Red River Valley.
The service will be held at the Northern Valley Law Enforcement Memorial located in Optimist Park at 4601 Cherry St. The service will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.
Local and state law enforcement officers from North Dakota and Minnesota agencies, federal law enforcement, the US Air Force and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be participating in this event
