(KNOX) – North Dakota State Representative Zac Ista of Grand Forks (D-43) says that the public’s needs will be addressed in the upcoming session.
“We’re hearing a lot from the key stakeholders in Grand Forks City and Grand Forks County about what the needs are for our community. Atop that list is almost always infrastructure needs,” Ista told KNOX Radio News. “Making sure we get across the finish line for the new interchange on the south end. Get across the finish line for the grade separation project at 42nd and Demers to make sure people aren’t getting stuck behind trains.”
Ista says that he will seek state money for the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
“We’re going to seek investment of the state for the rebuild of Twining out at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. So a lot of those things I think are in the hopper when you look at what the priorities are when you look from a high level in Grand Forks City and Grand Forks County,” Ista says.
He says property tax reform is also at the top of his priority list.
“We are also really going to be invested in the broader discussion about lowering costs across the state. I think that the number one concern in that regard is property tax relief and reform,” Ista says.
The North Dakota Senate and House convene at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the State Capitol in Bismarck.
