(KNOX) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says the 2025 Governor’s Fishing Opener will be held May 9 and 10 in Crosslake…the first time the event has been held among Crosslake’s 15 resorts.
Minnesota DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen says the area offers anglers a variety of walleye, northern pike, and large and smallmouth bass, greater redhorse and white sucker… plus three state parks, a wildlife management area, and 119 miles of shoreline.
The Governor’s Fishing Opener has been a tradition in Minnesota since 1948.
