(KNOX) – An investigation by Minnesota’s U.S. Senators confirms postal service management failures in northern Minnesota.
The November 2023 audit found 79,000 pieces of delayed mail over a three-day period.
Senator Tina Smith says “This isn’t the end of this story. The Inspector General’s district-wide report will be released soon, and I look forward to getting a full picture so we can hold the Postal Service accountable.”
Senator Amy Klobuchar says families in Bemidji and surrounding communities rely on the Postal Service for everything from prescriptions to paychecks.
The report also makes it clear that management failures… not the failures of postal workers… are responsible for the problems.
