(KNOX) – A Sheyenne, North Dakota man is charged with Driving Under the Influence after losing control of his vehicle early Sunday morning five miles south of Maddock.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Donald Ystaas was driving south on Highway 30 when his Lincoln Mark III struck a guardrail and began rotating… coming to rest facing north in the west ditch.
Ystaas was treated on the scene before being taken to a Harvey hospital for serious injuries. He was airlifted to Sanford in Bismarck.
The patrol says Ystaas was not wearing a seat belt.
