Road closures kick in May 15 in Grand Forks

Grand Forks, ND – Crews will begin several Mill & Overlay projects in the City’s Near Southside Neighborhood on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  Between 4^th Ave. S. to 13^th Ave. S. from Cherry St. to the Red River.

The roads impacted are:

4^th Ave. S. (Belmont Rd. – Minnesota Ave.)
5^th Ave. S. (Cottonwood St. – Chestnut St.)
6^th Ave. S. (Cottonwood St. – Chestnut St.)
7^th Ave. S. (Cottonwood St. – Chestnut St.)
8^th Ave. S. (Cottonwood St. – Reeves Dr.)
9^th Ave. S. (Cottonwood St. – Almonte Ave.)
10^th Ave. S. (Lindon Crt. – Almonte Ave.)
11^th Ave. S. (Belmont Rd. – Almonte Ave.)
13^th Ave. S. (Cherry St. – Belmont Rd.)
Cottonwood St. (4^th Ave. S. – 10^th Ave. S.)
Walnut St. (4^th Ave. S. – 13^th Ave. S.)
Chestnut St. (4^th Ave. S. – 13^th Ave. S.)
Reeves Dr. (4^th Ave. S. – 11^th Ave. S.)
Almonte Ave. (10^th Ave. S. – Lincoln Dr.)
Reeves Crt. (Reeves Dr. – River St.)
River St. (Reeves Crt. – 4^th Ave. S.)

Crews will begin by making concrete repairs in this area with minimal impacts to traffic.

Once they begin the Mill (grinding) & Overlay (resurfacing) portion of the job later this summer, drivers can expect short (1-2 day) closures in this area.  Crews will be notifying residents that will be directly impacted by the Mill & Overlay as they move through this area of town.

The entire Mill & Overlay project in this portion of Grand Forks is expected to be complete by early August, weather permitting.
