What started out as a traffic stop for a possible domestic dispute ended in the death of one of the individuals.
West Fargo Police initiated the traffic stop near Veterans Boulevard and 26th Avenue South around 11:30 a.m.
The driver exited the vehicle and was briefly detained. A passenger did not comply with officer’s instructions and remained inside the vehicle. The passenger revealed a firearm and died of suicide while police ordered additional commands.
West Fargo Police say no shots were fired by fired by department personnel. Authorities had previously engaged with the individual regarding a domestic dispute the previous night.
The incident remains under investigation.
