The East Grand Forks council tabled the latest plan last night (Tuesday) to make street improvements along 20th Street NW and 5th Avenue. Residents in the neighborhood have resisted previous attempts to fix the roadway due to the high special assessment costs. Mayor Steve Gander floated the idea of a “partial reconstruction” to address the most immediate needs.
Council member Tim Riopelle says the residents aren’t interested in any reconstruction right now. The council will revisit the road project in the future – but only if residents make the request.
