UND to study methane emissions

By Doug Barrett Mar 20, 2023 | 8:23 AM

The University of North Dakota has secured a one-million dollar grant to research cost-effective ways to reduce methane emissions from small production facilities.

The announcement of the award from the U.S. Department of Energy was made by U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer. The Bakken Production Optimization Program provided an additional $250,000 for in-kind labor and services.

The goal is to eliminate methane from the flaring and venting of storage tanks.
