Reese gets life sentences for workplace killings

By Pat Sweeney Feb 6, 2023 | 4:43 PM

A Moorhead man has received three life sentences without possibility of parole for the 2021 murders of two co-workers and their unborn child in Fargo.

Thirty-seven-year-old Anthony Reese Junior pleaded guilty last November to the murders of 43-year-old Richard Pittman, 32-year-old April Carbone (CAR-bohn) and their unborn daughter.

The defense asked for life in prison with the possibility of parole, since Reese turned himself in shortly after the shootings… told officers where to find the handgun… and pleaded guilty to all counts.

Cass County District Judge Wade Webb said he gave his sentence because of Reese’s 13 prior convictions, including criminal sexual imposition in Minnesota in 2014. He was on supervised release when the shooting happened.

Reese and Pittman got into an argument prior to the shootings at a North Fargo manufacturing business. Carbone (CAR-bohn) was pregnant. Her unborn girl died.

Reese did not speak at today’s (Mon’s) sentencing.
