A driver suffered minor injuries when his box truck was hit by a train south of Winger (MN).
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says, around 9:15 this (Tue) morning, the truck stopped too close to the tracks near 460th Street Southeast and U-S Highway 59… and was struck by a southbound Canadian Pacific train.
Authorities say the truck driver, 58-year-old Gerald Robbins of Circle Pines (MN), was transported to Mahonmen County Hospital.
Deputies believe he was wearing a seat belt.
The truck sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
There was no cross arm or control device at the crossing.
The accident is under investigation.
