A closer look at the numbers shows just shy of 242,000 ballots were cast in North Dakota’s General Election. That’s a turnout rate 42.83%. That’s higher than the June primary turnout (18.79%) but less than General Elections in 2018 (57%) and 2014 (46.81%).
In Grand Forks County the turnout rate was 35.84%. County Auditor Deb Nelson says the counting of ballots went well.
Over 7,500 people cast ballots prior to Tuesday via early voting or absentee. That’s about 39% of the total vote tally.
