Authorities say a 12-year old St. Paul boy has died, after being shot by his 47-year-old uncle while hunting squirrels in northern Minnesota.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says the incident happened Sunday morning on public land near Motley (MN).
Authorities say the victim was transported from the scene to a nearby helicopter, then to a Twin Cities area hospital, where he died later on Sunday. An autopsy is scheduled.
Sheriff Tom Burch says the investigation indicates that the incident is a result of a hunting accident and remains under investigation.
