Survey work could begin this fall on improvements to LaFave Park in East Grand Forks. The city now has the green light to begin spending grant dollars doled out by the Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails Commission.
The work includes boat ramp access…a picnic shelter…mill and overlay…and a softball field. The $875,580 dollar grant will cover 75% of the bill.
The city is looking to hire Widseth Engineering to draw up plans and specs for the project.
East Grand Forks has until June 2025 to spend all the money.
