Molly Yeh announces name of new EGF restaurant

Food Network’s Molly Yeh has released new details about her plans to open a restaurant in the former Whitey’s and Sickies location in East Grand Forks.  Yeh and her husband say Bernie’s has a scheduled opening this fall.

East Grand Forks Mayor Steve Gander confirmed the opening during his State of the City address in April.  Yeh and her husband Nick Hagen have been married since 2014 and live on Nick’s family farm.

In an INSTAGRAM post today (Wednesday) Yeh writes the restaurant will be located on the banks of the Red River and will offer the cuisine of East Grand Forks…Midwest traditions…Scandinavian flavors…local ingredients… and “REALLY GOOD BREAD.”

Sickies closed in August 2021.

Yeh promises additional updates as they develop the menu…hire staff…and honor the -quote- “ghosts of this historic space and create new stories of our town.”
