Nineteen of North Dakota’s 53 counties are showing a “high” level of community transmission for COVID-19, according to the CDC.

The list includes Cass, Traill, Steele and Pembina Counties.

Grand Forks County is at the “substantial” risk level, along with Walsh, Cavalier and 13 other counties.

There are six counties at a “moderate” level, while 12 are at “low” risk.

Meanwhile… more than half of Minnesota’s 87 counties are at the “high” level…  including Pennington, Marshall, Roseau, Norman, Clearwater and Beltrami.

Those in the “substantial” risk level include Polk, Red Lake and Kittson.

No Minnesota counties are at the “low” level.

Minnesota Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm said on Friday that the Delta variant is now responsible for more than 95 percent of positive specimens from patients infected with the virus.

Minnesota reported 1,336 new cases on Friday and six new deaths.

North Dakota has 959 active cases… 60 of them in Grand Forks County, which reports 12 new positive hits.
