Teen dies in McLean County accident

Authorities have identified a Riverdale (ND) teenager who died in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in McLean County.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Brandon Krehlik was driving a Pontiac eastbound on Highway 200 crossing the Garrison Dam.

The Pontiac moved into westbound lanes to pass another vehicle that entered the road, but lost control and began spinning into the parking lot of a scenic overlook.

A westbound Lincoln  trying to avoid Krehlik’s Pontiac struck the passenger side of the vehicle in the parking area.

Troopers say Krehlik was not wearing a seat belt… was ejected… and died at the scene.

The driver of the Lincoln was also unbelted. He was transported to a Bismarck hospital with undisclosed injuries.
