Fargo Police Officers had a busy night and early morning. Here are a few highlights.
Fargo Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at Sanford Sleep and Dialysis around 11:30 p.m. A male, who was later identified as Santos Mekwam, 50 years old with no permanent address, was using a can of hairspray as a flame thrower and was burning items in the vestibule area of the hospital. Mekwam intentional caused damage to an occupied building by fire.
A Sanford employee attempted to stop Mekwam from causing more damage to property and potentially serious bodily injury to people inside by grabbing Santos. The Sanford employee and Mekwam got into a physical altercation where Santos struck the Sanford employee in the nose. The Sanford employee was not injured and refused medical treatment.
Officers located Mekwam walking in a parking lot directly south of Sanford. Mekwam was detained and was found to be in possession of a bottle of hair spray.
Mekwam was arrested for endangerment by fire and an unrelated warrant.

This morning, shortly after 7:00 a.m. officers were dispatched to 5200 21 Ave. S. for a garage burglary in progress. The complainant had installed a texting trail camera into his garage yesterday in response to it being burglarized two nights ago. This morning it alerted him to someone inside and he watched two people on camera burglarizing his garage while he was on the phone with dispatch.
Officers arrived and quickly detained one suspect, identified as Ryan Delonais, 25 years old of Moorhead, MN. fleeing the scene on foot. The other suspect, later identified as Travis Russell, 26 years old with no permanent address, was arrested a couple blocks away when he was found hiding in an apartment building.
Ryan Delonais was arrested for burglary and an unrelated warrant. Travis Russell was arrested for burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an unrelated warrant.
