A semi loaded with rubber mats caught fire and burned along I-29 in Richland County on Tuesday. The North Dakota Patrol says a blown tire forced the 40-year old driver to the right shoulder – as the truck quickly caught fire. The cargo was destined for Illinois from Jamestown (ND). The southbound lanes of I-29 were closed for multiple hours near the Christine (ND) exit while the scene was cleaned and cleared. The driver was identified as Geral Carlos Romero from Miami (FL). Romero exited the vehicle and was not injured. He was cited for driving with a suspended license.
