Researchers at UND and NDSU got a chance to make the case to be a part of a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) with Space Command. The head of Space Command toured UND and the Cavalier Air Station today. The visit by General James Dickinson was arranged by U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer. General Dickinson says it’s important to understand how UARC could play a role in the nation’s defense because “we continue to see some competitors that are doing things in the space domain right now and we need to be prepared hold them accountable.”Senator Cramer says North Dakota has what Space Command needs - plus it has a culture that supports the U.S. militarily.
General Dickinson called it a great trip “...University of North Dakota...great patriots and great Americans doing some great work for the country.”
