ND Campus Testing

North Dakota colleges and universities are contemplating an aggressive COVID-19 testing component as students prepare to return to campuses this fall. With students coming from multiple states and countries there is concern about a spike in caseloads.
U-N-D Medical School Dean Joshua Wynne says they are working with the state health department on establishing campus testing sites.
Those would be located in Grand Forks...Fargo...Bismarck...Dickinson...and Williston. Supplemental at-home testing would be granted to students when it is not convenient to travel to a designated site.
Wynne says the ideal situation would be to check all students right before they return to campus so if they test positive they can isolate at home.
He adds the state has the bandwidth to handle the testing demand.
Student athletes would likely see more intense testing due to travel plans. The testing blitz for all students could be repeated after Thanksgiving.
More details about the plan could be rolled out later this week.
