Health officials will have one-thousand COVID-19 kits on hand for a free mass testing event in Grand Forks today. It’s the first of two planned mass testing events being in the state this week. Teams will shift to Bismarck on Wednesday.

Director of Disease Control Kirby Kruger says testing is one of the best ways to identify cases early as up to 30% of individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are asymptomatic.

It usually takes 24 to 72 hours to receive a positive test result - and up to 72 hours for a negative result.

The event in Grand Forks today will take place at the Alerus Center from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
