State and local leaders are gearing up for the 2020 census count. Starting the week of March 12th census forms will start arriving in mail boxes across the country. By April 1st every home should have received an invitation to participate in the count.
Grand Forks officials are urging residents to fill out the forms. City Planner Brad Gengler says some harder to count areas in the past have included the University of North Dakota and the G-F-A-F-B.
Gengler says new for 2020 is an “in process” type tool which is similar to running election results. He says the information should help communities identify where they need to focus more efforts on…
As part of the upcoming census Grand Forks has unveiled specially wrapped city buses to act as rolling billboards to highlight the importance of being counted.
Another innovation of the 2020 census is that most households will be able to respond online. The Census Bureau says internet responses are quicker and less expensive than the traditional mailing of paper questionnaires.
