(KNOX) – Rainfall from a Tuesday morning storm of high wind, lightning and torrential rain reached 2.39 inches in Grand Forks, according to various media reports.
The storm left water in some streets, prompting Facebook messengers to post “Turn around, don’t drown.”
The storm surged across the Red River of the North, leading to a flash flood warning for Polk County. Wind speeds exceeded 65 miles per hour.
Utility companies reported power outages affecting 2,000 homes, though that number fluctuated through the morning.
