(KNOX) – Xcel Energy officials and Grand Forks community leaders will formally kick off construction of the new Xcel Energy Service Center on Wednesday.
The new center will be about 30 percent larger than the current building to serve customers’ future needs.
The facility will feature modern technology, an updated fleet mechanic garage, and more storage space to keep equipment out of the elements.
Groundbreaking is set for 4 p.m. tomorrow afternoon at 1206 Fifth Avenue South in Grand Forks.
