(KNOX) – Critical fire weather conditions will continue this afternoon and early evening through the Red River Valley.
Grand Forks and Polk counties have been added to a Red Flag Warning until 8 p.m. by the National Weather Service.
North Dakota counties include Barnes, Cass, Eddy, Grand Forks, Griggs, Pembina, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele, Traill and Walsh counties.
Minnesota counties include Clay, Kittson, Norman, West Marshall, West Polk and Wilkin.
West winds will gust to 35 mph or higher.
Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
