(KNOX) – A Saint Michael, North Dakota man will serve more than 27 years in prison for second-degree murder and arson.
37-year-old Cody James Belgarde was sentenced by Chief Judge Peter Well-tee.
In January 2021, Belgarde shot and killed a 17-year-old boy… then set fire to the house where the murder took place.
In November 2023, a jury acquitted Belgarde on a charge of First-Degree Murder… but convicted him of second-degree murder and arson.
