The number of coronavirus vaccine doses being delivered to North Dakota is increasing. Gov. Doug Burgum says the state will receive a 5% increase in the number of vaccine doses. North Dakota will receive 7,500 doses next week, up from 6,900 doses this week.
Grand Forks health officials continue to move down the list of those eligible to receive a COVID-19 shot. The vaccine is now available to those in Tier 5 of Phase 1-B. That group includes anyone who is 65 and older.
North Dakota Immunization Program Manager Molly Howell says it’s important to keep the vaccine flowing.
The North Dakota Health dashboard reports over 141-thousand vaccine doses have been administered around the state to date. Howell says it’s not going to waste. “We had 25 doses reportedly go to waste. Some of it was a broken vial and needle stick – so when you look at 100,000 doses and only 25 wasted I think that’s acceptable.”
In Grand Forks County 13,713 shots have gone into the arms of residents to date.
