The parent company of Facebook and Instagram has announced plans to build an $800 million dollar Data Center in Rosemount (MN).
Meta says the 715,000 square foot complex will sit on a 280 acre parcel and will be the company’s 19th data center in the U.S.
Like all of Meta’s data centers – the Rosemount site will be supported by 100% renewable energy.
Governor Tim Walz says the announcement is a testament to the state’s commitment to make Minnesota a top state for “business, innovation, and investment in our workforce.”
“As a leader in the energy transition, we share Meta’s commitment to clean energy,” said Ryan Long, president of Xcel Energy–Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
