Former student sentenced for bomb threats to school

A former University of St. Thomas student has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for calling in fake bomb threats to the St. Paul school.

The U-S Attorney’s Office says 22-year-old Ray Persaud phoned in the threats on three occasions in 2019, causing disruption to the campus, including evacuation of buildings and a child-care center.

Persaud admitted that, on those dates, he had failed to complete his homework and was unprepared for class.
