By Doug Barrett Mar 6, 2024 | 9:25 AM

President Joe Biden has dealt challenger Dean Phillips a Super Tuesday defeat in the Minnesota congressman’s own home state, while former President Donald Trump has beaten Nikki Haley in the state’s Republican primary.

Minnesota has 75 Democratic and 39 Republican national convention delegates. But it’s one of the smaller of the 16 states and one territory that held Super Tuesday primaries.

Northwest Minnesota voters side with the majority in Tuesday’s vote.
In Polk County Trump received 79.74% of the vote compared to Haley at just over 18%. Joe Biden captured over 82% of the Democratic tally. Norman County supported Trump over Haley 73.7% to 23.6%. Marshall County went the same way 80.5% to 17.68%.
