(KNOX) –

After being closed for two months…North Dakota’s oldest public library is open once again on a week-to-week basis.

Starting the morning of March 4, Mayville Public Library doors opened with the focus on checking out library books to Peter Boe Junior Elementary School students and regular patrons.

The week-to-week service by volunteers will continue for a couple of months.

Mayville City Auditor Gail Olstad says automation, staffing and a levy increase on the June ballot are next on the library’s agenda.

The Mayville Public Library Board meets the second Monday of each month at 10 a.m.
