(KNOX) – The risk for significant flooding in the Red River Basin continues to be very low… and running below long-term historical averages.
In its biweekly report… the National Weather Service says precipitation has been near to above normal for the basin due to rain and ice events.
Soil moisture is lower than normal with moderate to severe drought conditions across the north and abnormally dry conditions elsewhere.
The Red River of the North at Grand Forks is not expected to reach flood stage at 28 feet. The 50-50 forecast mark is 25.7 feet.
