Minnesota may enlist the services of a national recruiting firm to help find a director of the Office of Cannabis Management. Applications will be accepted through Monday, February 26.
In September Governor Tim Walz named Erin Dupree as OCM director. Dupree resigned days later over financial and questions of overseeing a CBD store that sold products exceeding state THC limits.
During the interim Walz has appointed Charlene Briner as interim director of OCM. Briner has led the OCM implementation since June of 2023. Briner previously served as deputy commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Minnesota Department of Education.
Governor Walz signed legislation in May making Minnesota the 23rd state to legalize adult-use marijuana.
