The Grand Forks School Board received some good news last night (Monday). Bids on the new central kitchen project came in under budget. The total construction cost is now pegged at $5.35 million dollars. The engineer estimate on the work was around $6 million.
Business Manager Brandon Baumbach says the lower cost could free up money for other projects under the voter approved $79 million dollar referendum – including the Valley Middle School build and security upgrades.
The bid covers several alternate features including a garage for truck deliveries.
