Fergus Falls resumes classes after threat

By Doug Barrett Jan 16, 2024 | 8:44 AM

It’s a back to school for students in Fergus Falls after an early dismissal Monday when the district received threatening phone calls.

In response to the anonymous call the district personnel contacted law enforcement and initiated a lockdown. Authorities conducted a search of each of the buildings.

The Fergus Falls Police Department will station an officer in each of the schools today out of an abundance of caution.

In a memo to parents and staff Superintendent Jeff Drake said “Although situations like today can cause anxiety and fear, we want to provide assurance that our schools are safe.”
