The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department is out with a warning about a SCAM.
The GFSO says they’ve been notified that someone is apparently calling residents claiming to be a sergeant from the department. The caller urges recipients to make a payment over the phone for arrest warrants…civil process…or other activities.
Authorities say they will never request money transfers or gift card payments over the phone.
Anyone who receives such a call is urged to contact the department at 780-8280.
