A 42-year-old Bismarck man accused of stealing a vehicle and leading officers on a high-speed chase that killed a Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputy has updated charges.
Prosecutors have filed a count of homicide while fleeing a police officer against Ian Cramer.
Cramer was previously charged with manslaughter.
Additional charges include possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Cramer is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
According to Bismarck police, Ian Cramer was driven by his mother to Sanford Health emergency room in Bismarck at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday over concerns about his mental health. When she got out of the SUV, Cramer took the wheel. The pursuit resulted in a crash that killed 53-year-old Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Martin. The funeral service for Martin was held Wednesday in Beulah.
